Do you recommend a specific pen for the guestbook?
We have tested many pens on our books and the winner is.... the American Crafts' Slick Writer Pen. You can find them on Amazon or in local stores. (*Please note - exposed for prolonged periods of time to extreme heat can cause the pen to bleed.)
If you cannot find the Slick Writer pen, we recommend any pen that dries fast and does not tend to smear. This pen is a great option too!
How is this different from the Layflat Album?
There are more templates with extra space for writing abilities! When estimating how much space to leave in a wedding guest book, a good rule of thumb is to dedicate a page for every 10-15 signatures.
How is this different from the Wedding Guest Book Set?
While the Wedding Guest Book has the same page thickness and page count options as the layflat album, those options differ for the Guest Book Set. The album in the Guest Book Set offers double-thick pages and a landscape orientation (11x8.x25), and . Each set comes with our preferred Guest Book Pen, with the option to add our Wooden Quote Box for elevated safekeeping.
What paper type do you recommend for the guestbook?
We recommend the Superfine paper for wedding guest books specifically. The matte paper allows ink to sink in and dry faster, with less chance of smearing.
What type of paper is used for the guest books?
- Lustre: Mohawk ProPhoto paper in lustre finish; has a light sheen (reminiscent of traditional photo paper) with a smooth finish
- Superfine: Mohawk Superfine paper in eggshell finish; matte paper with a lightly textured finish
*If you are intending to write on the pages, the Superfine (eggshell) finish will be better as the ink will dry faster.

How thick are the guestbook pages?
Each page is about .04” thick. The minimum book (20 pages) is .625” in thickness. 70 pages is 1.625” in thickness. The pages are not measured in gsm since the photo paper has a glue sheet inserted to create a flush mount photo album.
Can I add custom fonts, layouts, etc for my foil stamping on the cover and spine of my book?
All of the foil stamping for our guestbook is done by hand, so unfortunately we cannot accommodate any customization beyond the options provided within the editor at this time. We've introduced four wedding-themed cover layouts to our Wedding Layflat Album, which offer some unique fonts and design options compared to our classic layouts.
What type of binding is used for the guestbook?
We use flush mount materials. Each page has a glue sheet inserted to make the page extra thick. These pages are secured around the spine and then placed into the cover, which is then adhered to the outer side of the end sheets.
Is the Artifact Uprising logo on the guestbook?
Our Wedding Guest Books do not include our logo on the final product. It comes in a custom, white box with a removable sleeve with the logo on it. The logo is included on the product shipping packaging, and cannot be removed.
