Once a project has been started, the book type cannot be changed. We’re unable to transfer an existing design from one book format to another, even between similar products such as a Hardcover Photo Book and a Photo-Wrapped Hardcover Photo Book.
If you'd like to create your book in a different format, you'll need to start a new project and recreate the design in the new book type.
Use a PDF Proof as a Reference
A helpful workaround is to email yourself a PDF proof of your current project and use it as a guide while rebuilding your book in the new format.
To email a PDF proof:
- Open your project in the editor.
- Click the three-line menu icon at the top of the editor.
- On the right side of the menu, select Email Print Proof.
- Enter your email address and click Send.
- You'll see a confirmation message that your proof is being generated. The PDF should arrive in your inbox within a few minutes.
Important Notes
- Book types cannot be changed after a project has been created.
- Designs cannot be transferred between different book formats.
- Starting a new project is required if you'd like to switch to a different book type.
- The PDF proof is for reference only and cannot be imported into a new project.
