What is Design Review?
Design Review (formerly Project Review) is an optional paid add-on. Before your project goes into production, a member of our team checks it and recommends any changes. You choose which recommendations to accept.

What does Design Review include?
Our team previews your full project and checks for the following:
Cover and spine
- Spelling of all cover and spine text
- Text that goes over the character limit
- Foil and cover colors with too little contrast to read easily
Paper type
- Whether the paper you selected is the best fit for your product
Photos and layout
- Images that may print too dark
- Faces, text, or other important details that fall in the center crease
- Awkward cropping, such as cut-off heads
- Duplicate or missing images
- Low-resolution images that may print blurry
- Blank pages at the end of the project
How is Design Review different from Album Design Services?
With Design Review, you design your own album, and our team checks it before it prints. With Album Design Services, a professional designer creates your album for you.

How does the Design Review process work?
- Your order is placed on hold. Your project stays on hold and isn't printed until the review is complete.
- We review your project. If everything looks good, we'll email you and send your project to production.
- We send recommendations. If we suggest changes, we'll email you a list with page numbers so you can decide what you'd like to update.
- We make the edits. Once you approve the changes, our team updates your project and emails you a new PDF proof.
- You confirm, and we print. After you approve the updated proof, your project moves into production.
What happens if I don't reply?
If we've sent recommended changes and haven't heard back, we'll send you a reminder. If we don't receive a reply within 24 hours of asking for your approval, we'll move your project to production as originally designed so your order isn't delayed.
Can your team review a project without Design Review?
We aren't able to review projects that don't include Design Review. We recommend previewing your project carefully and emailing yourself a PDF proof before placing your order.
How do I send myself a PDF proof?
- In the editor, click the menu icon (three lines) at the top center.
- Select Email Print Proof.
- Enter your email address and click Send.
You'll see a confirmation message, and your proof will arrive within a few minutes. You can keep editing your project after reviewing the proof.

Can I make changes after placing my order?
Once your order is placed, we can't make changes to your project, so finalize all edits before checking out. If you added Design Review, our team will make any changes you approve during the review.
