What type of paper is used in the hardcover books?
Interior printed pages in all of our books are Mohawk Options 100% PCW (Post Consumer Waste) white 100# paper (148 gsm). Full or Partial Dust Jackets are 120# Matte Finish.
What are the min/max page counts for each hardcover book size?
|Size||Minimum Page Count||Maximum Page Count|
*Please note: we cannot add or subtract from these limits. If you start with a 100 page book and need 150 pages, you will need to start a new project to accomplish this.
Is the Artifact Uprising logo on the hardcover book?
Our hardcover books do not include our logo on the final product. The logo is included on the product shipping packaging, and cannot be removed.
How are hardcover books bound?
For our softcover and hardcover books, we use PUR Binding. This is a form of perfect binding where the pages and cover are glued together at the spine and the other three sides of the book are trimmed as needed to give them clean “perfect” edges. Polyurethane Reactive (PUR) is the most durable book binding glue available.
Can I have foil stamping on my cover instead of the dust jacket?
Just as dust jackets are exclusive to our hardcover books, foil stamping is exclusive to our layflat albums and wedding guest books and is not available for our hardcover books. We do not offer further customization at this time.
Can I order a new dust jacket for my hardcover book?
You sure can! Head here to purchase a dust jacket refill. Just be sure to have the specifications of your current book handy for reference.
Can I change my book size once I've started my project?
The size and type of the book you create cannot be changed once your project is started. The only way to change the size or type of your book is to start a completely new project. To learn how to change the fabric color of your hardcover book, click here.
Can I design a custom dust jacket in a third party editor?
