Our printing style:
We believe that prints are meant to be timeless tangible memories of a life well-lived. To best honor those meaningful images, we'll be the first to tell you our printing style is a bit different than a typical, traditional photo print, in a way that also complements our love for the environment and premium quality materials.
To showcase your images in the most natural way possible, we print most of our products on FSC-certified, uncoated matte paper. You’ll find a few exceptions throughout our product line, but know that every type of paper we use is intentionally chosen. We also use 100% post-consumer waste paper in our matte option for the Hardcover photo books, and for all Softcover books. Learn more about our paper types here.
And with the exception of our Large Format Prints and Framed Prints (which are Inkjet-printed giclée prints, with 100% archival inks), all Artifact Uprising products are printed using digital press printing. This is different from a traditional photographic print in that it is a series of tiny dots which may make the photo appear less sharp than a traditional photographic print. We chose this method of printing because the chemicals used in producing a photographic print are highly damaging to the environment. We are really trying to be good stewards with our resources, as well as produce an awesome product at the same time!
