Where does the wood come from?
The Wood Calendar is handcrafted in Colorado using mountain beetle pine reclaimed from our forests. Once considered fallen waste wood, this pine is uniquely grayish-blue in color - a pretty cool reminder of an otherwise storied past. Due to the unique nature of the wood, each wood block will vary slightly and may include knots and unique markings.
The Walnut Desktop Calendar is handcrafted using reclaimed walnut wood from the conventional furniture industry. Often, furniture manufacturers use only wood with smooth and even grain lines, leaving approximately two-thirds of each tree to waste. We strive to create beautiful products from what these companies leave behind, turning what was once considered “wastewood” into a sustainable solution for sourcing high-quality materials.
